If you are using a disc image, click the "Other..." button and browse for the image on your local hard drive or network. 4 Connect your flash drive to the computer and highlight it in the "USB disk to use" list. 5 Select the "Stored in reserve space" radio button and drag the slider to select how much space should be reserved on the flash drive for persistent files if you would like your bootable Ubuntu to store persistent data (such as system settings and files) on the flash drive. If you would like your bootable Ubuntu to discard all files and settings each time it is shut down, select the "Discarded on shutdown" radio button. 6 Click the "Make Startup Disk" button and wait while your flash drive is formatted to boot Ubuntu. How to Repair a U3 Flash Drive

Once the Check Disk procedures are complete, check to see of the drive is working properly. Repair Unresponsive Drive 6 Plug the U3 Smart Drive into a different Windows computer. If the drive works on the computer, proceed to the following steps. If the drive is unresponsive on other computers, it is malfunctioning and should be returned to SanDisk or the place of purchase. 7 Disable password protection on the U3 Smart Drive by clicking "Disable Security" in the U3 Launchpad window and entering your password to confirm. This may allow the drive to be accessed on the original computer. 8 Update the U3 Launchpad software. Click "Status & Settings" in the Launchpad window and choose "U3 Launchpad Settings" and "Check for Software Updates."
